How Do You Make Stress Balls?
That said, making your own stress balls can be great fun and is definitely something you can do with the kids – although be warned that this can get very messy!
So how do you make stress balls at home?
Firstly, cover a suitably large area with a dust cover. It can be very messy to make stress balls at home!
Then get a strong balloon. The type of balloon you choose is crucial. Do not choose a modelling balloon as they tend to burst very easily. Your balloon should be a thick rubber one, and any shape will do although round is probably easiest.
Next, half inflate the balloon with air. Pinch and hold it closed at the neck with your fingers. Then insert a small filling funnel into the neck. Partly fill it with flour, corn flour, gravy granules, gel beads or similar. Finally, gently release the neck allowing some air to escape gently up the outside of the funnel. As it does so, your chosen stress ball filling will drop down into the balloon. Be patient! This step takes some practise and can get quite messy!
Gently re-inflate the partly filled balloon and repeat until the balloon is filled to the required extent with the filling.
Pinch off the balloon and tie at the neck to create your very own stress ball. If you wish, you can decorate the stress ball that you have made.
